About Minaal

Minaal Arain attended Burlingame High School (BHS) and Lake Highland Preparatory School (LHP). At BHS, she took Photography I as a freshman and took Photography II and III Honors at LHP during her sophomore year. She was born in Minnesota and lived there until 2016, which is when she moved to California. In 2021, she moved again to Florida. Minaal's moves have helped her see many artistic and creative perspectives around the country, allowing her to create her own. Aside from photography, she enjoys listening to music, writing about various subjects, reading, and spending time outdoors. Some of her favorite activities include football, swimming, and weight training. Minaal's favorite moments are with her friends and family. In her junior year, Minaal was a part of the yearbook staff, a photojournalist for LHP's newspaper, and the Director of Photography for LHP's literary magazine. She has been a photographer for multiple events in Orlando, FL as well. She was a Co-editor of her school newspaper and Director of Photography (Fall) and Editor-in-Chief (Spring) of her school literary magazine while taking AP 2-D Art and dedicating more time to finalizing her portfolio. Currently, she is a sophomore at UCF, majoring in journalism on the print/digital track and minoring in political science on the pre-law track. In the future, she wants to go into photojournalism and law, continuing to express her passion for photography and revealing the truth.
